A special industrial zone for the production of equipment for nuclear power plants will be created in Uzbekistan
A special industrial zone will be created in Uzbekistan, where equipment for the nuclear power plant being built in the country will be produced. It will appear in the Farish district of Jizzakh region.
This was said during an open dialogue between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and investors in the fuel and energy sector. As the press secretary of the head of state, Sherzod Asadov, сообщил, the zone will receive tax and customs benefits.
High-voltage equipment, energy storage system control modules, and components for wind turbines are currently being imported in large volumes. However, 12 promising localization projects worth 850 million dollars have already been prepared.
Noting the need for the project, the head of state cited the Chinese company China Energy as an example, which used almost 40% local products in the construction of eight energy storage stations worth about 200 million dollars.
Last year, the value of local goods and services in all investment projects in the energy sector reached 740 million dollars. The President stated that this figure can be increased by 3–4 times.
Mirziyoyev invited investors to cooperate in these projects. The Agency for Industrial Cooperation and local associations will help determine the quality and volume of the required products and establish work with enterprises.
