In Uzbekistan, 43% of electricity today is provided by renewable energy sources

Today, March 13, a record share of renewable energy sources (RES) was recorded in the energy system of Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry of Energy, as of 11:00 am, the country`s total electricity consumption was 9,900 MW, of which 4,300 MW, or 43%, was provided by green sources.

In the structure of renewable energy sources, the largest contribution was made by solar photovoltaic stations - 3,100 MW, wind power plants generated 660 MW, and hydroelectric power plants - 540 MW.

The total capacity of 15 large solar photovoltaic plants commissioned in the country reaches 3,930 MW.

According to experts, cool weather after rain and snow increases the efficiency of solar panels by up to 79%, which contributes to record performance.

These achievements demonstrate that ongoing energy reforms not only ensure environmentally friendly production, but also strengthen the sustainability of the entire energy system of Uzbekistan.
