Minister of Energy Strengthens Regional Cooperation in Tashkent
At the International Energy Forum in Tashkent, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov held key talks with his counterparts from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Turantimes.kz reports, citing the website of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.The main outcome was the signing of a trilateral protocol on the coordination of operational regimes for energy facilities and water distribution in the Syr Darya river basin for the upcoming vegetation season — a document that will serve as a solid foundation for regional stability.
According to the ministry, the document aims to ensure a balanced use of water and energy resources amid changing hydrological conditions and increasing regional demand.
In addition, Akkenshenov visited the "Uzbekistan Energy Week" (CAEx) exhibition, where, according to the ministry, he became acquainted with new technologies and developments presented, including those by Kazakhstani companies.
According to official information, strategic projects such as the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1 and the creation of the Caspian Energy Corridor involving Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan were also discussed.
As emphasized by the Ministry, the forum events aim to strengthen regional cooperation and ensure effective management of shared water and energy resources.
