The state of affairs in the oil and gas industry is considered
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with a report on the activities of the Uzbekneftegaz joint stock company in the first half of this year and priority tasks until the end of the year.
In the first half of this year, the company produced 11.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas. At the same time, production volumes of oil, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and liquefied gas exceeded forecast figures.
By the end of the year, it is planned to produce 1 million 100 thousand tons of motor gasoline, 983 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 310 thousand tons of aviation kerosene, 606 thousand tons of liquefied gas and about 1 million 180 thousand tons of synthetic products.
Due to the aggravation of the geopolitical situation, the number of flights on routes through Central Asia is growing. In particular, the number of flights to Uzbekistan has increased compared to 2025. It is expected that in July-December of this year the demand for aviation kerosene will be 375 thousand tons, which is 27 percent more than in the corresponding period last year. The bulk of this need will be covered by domestic oil refineries.
At the same time, due to the introduction of restrictions on the export of petroleum products in certain partner countries, the import of aviation kerosene from alternative sources, including Georgia, Iraq and other countries, has been established.
In order to improve the quality and volume of geological exploration work, information is also presented on the modernization plans of the Uzbekgeofizika joint-stock company. It is planned to allocate $38.8 million to update geophysical equipment for well research and purchase a modern 3D seismic field complex.
It was also reported about the work being carried out jointly with foreign companies, in particular the American Schlumberger, to create a seismic data processing center. A modern supercomputer complex will be installed at the center, new software will be purchased, and artificial intelligence will be widely used in seismic research.
Thanks to these measures, the area of annual 3D seismic research will increase from 1 thousand 800 to 5 thousand square kilometers, and the research depth will increase from 4.5 thousand to 8 thousand meters. The number of prospective geological structures being prepared will increase from 19 to 30.
Measures have been identified to introduce materials resistant to high temperatures and pressure, ultrasonic logging technologies, real-time geophysical monitoring, and horizontal drilling during the construction of wells. This will improve the reliability of wells in difficult geological conditions, ensure efficient development of productive formations and achieve higher flow rates.
The head of state instructed to take measures to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the population and sectors of the economy.
In addition, tasks have been set for technological renewal of industry enterprises, increasing energy efficiency, reducing production costs and ensuring strict control over the implementation of planned activities.
