Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan signed a founding agreement within the framework of the Green Corridor project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On December 27, 2024, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan signed a founding agreement for the implementation of the joint project "Green Corridor".

Today, December 27, in order to implement the agreement signed on November 13, 2024 between the state leaders of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, a founding agreement was signed between the system operators of the countries.

Uzbekenergo JSC is participating in the project from Uzbekistan, KEGOC JSC from Kazakhstan, and Azerenerji JSC from Azerbaijan.

The project, also known as the "Green Corridor", is aimed at increasing trade opportunities in line with new initiatives of the European Union, such as the "Green Deal".

The implementation of this project will help strengthen the stability of the energy systems of our countries and will significantly contribute to our environmental goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through "green" investments.

The parties agreed on a proposal to establish a joint venture to implement the project in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Consulting company CESI will participate in the preparation of the feasibility study for the project.
