London Post": Uzbekistan is moving towards a sustainable energy future, which will allow it to become an important player in the energy market of Central Asia.

The popular British news portal "London Post" published an article titled "Prospects of the 'Green' Energy Transition in Uzbekistan," reports the correspondent of the IA "Dunyo."

The article notes that in recent years, Uzbekistan has demonstrated a steady growth in interest towards the development of renewable energy sources (RES) and "green" energy, driven by the government’s strategic priorities in sustainable development and environmental security.

"In Uzbekistan, the SDGs are being implemented in accordance with government decisions. On February 21, 2022, the Resolution 'On Additional Measures to Accelerate the Implementation of National Sustainable Development Goals and Targets for the Period Until 2030' was adopted, which approves measures to achieve the SDGs, including a significant increase by 2030 in the share of energy from renewable sources in the country’s energy balance and doubling energy efficiency indicators," writes the author.

The publication also emphasizes that Uzbekistan is demonstrating ambitious plans to develop "green" energy, RES, and energy-saving technologies, aiming to significantly increase their share in the overall energy balance.

It is noted that emphasis is placed on the construction of solar and wind stations using modern technologies, such as high-efficiency panels and energy storage systems, which will stabilize energy supply and increase the share of RES during peak hours.

According to the information, positive trends in the development of RES in Uzbekistan include a steady influx of investments, the creation of favorable conditions for business, the introduction of modern technologies, and an increase in energy efficiency.

"The country is moving towards a sustainable energy future, which will not only meet its internal needs but also allow it to become an important player in the energy market of Central Asia," concludes the "London Post."
