Uzbekistan has retained its position in the top 5 gas suppliers to China
According to the results of 2025, Uzbekistan exported natural gas to China worth USD 773 million. This is evidenced by data from China’s customs statistics. The republic maintained its position among the top five largest suppliers of pipeline gas to the Chinese market.
Russia remains the leader in terms of supply volume, exporting gas worth USD 9.41 billion. Turkmenistan ranks second with USD 8.41 billion. It is followed by Myanmar and Kazakhstan, which supplied gas worth USD 1.53 billion and USD 1.13 billion respectively. Uzbekistan rounds out the top five largest exporters.
Earlier, temporary restrictions on the operation of automotive gas filling compressor stations were reintroduced in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Energy stated that the measure was related to a sharp drop in temperatures and increased gas demand. In Tashkent, most methane filling stations temporarily suspended operations, while liquefied gas stations continued to operate as usual.
