The 28th Uzbekistan Energy Week 2026, the country's flagship exhibition and conference event for the fuel and energy sector, took place from 12 to 14 May, 2026 at the CAEx Uzbekistan, in Tashkent.

The event was organised by Iteca Exhibitions International Exhibition Company in partnership with ICA Eurasia Group and Congresses of Central Asia – CCA, with the official support of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

This year, UEW 2026 delivered record results and confirmed the growing international importance of the event. Participants once again represented a broad international cross-section of countries, with delegations and companies from 34 nations, including Afghanistan, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Republic of Belarus, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Uzbekistan.

The total number of visitors has grown as well with 17,925 targeted visits recorded this year.

The central event of the Energy Week was the Uzbekistan International Energy Forum, which united the 28th International Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan Conference – OGU 2026, the 6th International Energy Conference and the Youth Program of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

The key topic of the Forum was: New Energy: Innovation, Sustainability, Regional Cooperation. The highly comprehensive program included 16 sessions on the most pressing issues of industry development and regional cooperation in the sector confirming UEW’s status as a key strategic platform for the region’s energy sector.

The Forum was opened with a plenary session entitled “Integrating Efforts for a Sustainable Energy Architecture in the Region”, attended by Mr. Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan; Mr. Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan; Mr. Denis Moroz, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus; Mr. Orkhan Zeynalov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan; Mr. Ilyas Bakytzhan, Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan; Mr. T.R. Midhun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation; Mr. Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum; Ms. Atsuko Hirose, Acting Secretary-General of the Energy Charter Secretariat; Mr. Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of the Board of AMEA Power LLC; and Mr. Lin Xiaodan, Chairman of the Board of China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd.

Jamshid Khodjaev set the strategic direction for the dialogue in his speech:

“Uzbekistan Energy Week is an important industry event. It is far more than an exhibition or conference. It is a working platform where partnerships are built, agreements are signed, technologies are presented and investors discover real opportunities. Our objective is clear: to position Uzbekistan not simply as a growing energy market, but as a reliable, modern and integrated energy partner for the region and the wider international community. I am confident that Energy Week will contribute to the launch of new initiatives, the strengthening of international cooperation, and the development of a modern, reliable and sustainable energy system.”

Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum:

“I was pleased to participate in the panel session alongside ministers from across the region. Cooperation remains critically important, particularly at a time when global crises clearly demonstrate the need for countries to strengthen resilience, diversification and flexibility. Today’s session was highly productive, and I sincerely hope that Uzbekistan will join the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in the very near future.”

Denis Moroz, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus:

“During the Forum, we held discussions with the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and reached a preliminary agreement to establish a joint working group between our two ministries. Uzbekistan is currently moving forward with the construction of a nuclear power plant, while Belarus has already completed this process, and we are ready to share our practical experience. In addition, our countries have common interests in the development of electric transport, the transition to electric heating for households, and the expansion of power grid infrastructure, all of which are becoming increasingly important in both markets. We agreed to strengthen cooperation in these areas, and this Forum has become the starting point for concrete joint initiatives.”

Atsuko Hirose, Acting Secretary-General, Energy Charter Secretariat:

“Uzbekistan is an important signatory to the Energy Charter Treaty. We are united by a common objective: the development of the energy sector and investment cooperation, and this Forum plays an important role in advancing these goals by bringing together governments, international organisations and investors to support regional energy integration. This is particularly relevant in today’s geopolitical environment. The Middle Corridor, connecting Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Far East, is of strategic importance for the stability of energy supplies, regional energy security and the growing interdependence of the wider region.”

Dildora Khashimova, Press Secretary and Advisor to the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan on Information Policy:

“This year’s Uzbekistan Energy Week was held at a very high level, both in terms of content and organisation. B2B meetings, panel discussions and exhibitions took place simultaneously, yet despite the scale of the event, all processes were managed efficiently and smoothly. International guests and participating companies highly praised the organisation of the event, clearly demonstrating Uzbekistan’s growing capacity to host major international Forums and exhibitions. Most importantly, platforms such as this serve not only as a space for professional dialogue, but also as a strong demonstration of the country’s openness, investment appeal and readiness for international cooperation.”

Uzbekistan’s Energy Week was distinguished not only by the participation of high-ranking guests but also by the diverse presence of major international organizations, companies, associations, and diplomatic missions from participating countries. Among them were the Energy Charter Secretariat, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, SOCAR, EDF Central Asia, China National Oil and Gas Corporation (CNODC), KMPG Caucasus and Central Asia, Central Asian Association of Artificial Intelligence, S&P Global, BP, Baker Hughes, EDF Power Solutions, Voltalia, Schlumberger, Hebei Silicon Valley Chemical Co, KPMG CCA, Everllence SE, International Innovative Technologies, AMEA Power LLC, JSC NK KazMunayGas, LUKOIL, Atomic Energy Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan GTL, Uzkimyosanoat JSC, Uztransgaz JSC, and many others.
